Re: Anybody know what this leak is?
To be 100% sure change the oil return o ring and gasket, and get some carb cleaner and clean it up good under there. Check to see how much oil is coming through that weep hole. I couldn't say how much a garage would charge to change the rear main as the engine and transmission must be removed from t...

Re: Anybody know what this leak is?
Yeah, looking up at the engine it doesn't look like its the oil return pipe. Main Seal is most likely gone.

Re: Anybody know what this leak is?
It's hard to tell if theres anything coming out the weep hole if it not clear under there. I've circled where the hole is for your info, from what i can see it looks okay but you really do need to clean it to be sure.

Re: Anybody know what this leak is?
That looks like the oil return line from the turbo. I thought my rear main had gone and all it turned out to be was a gasket and o ring. Best thing to do is clean the area, put car on ramps, get underneath and look up behind the engine you will see the turbo and see a pipe attached to it held by two...

Hello all! I have a 850R, on a run its doing around 22-25 MPG (US) and in town that will drop to around 14 MPG (US). I used to own a T5 stick that could manage 29MPG (US) but with some extremly careful throttle control! The thing is here in the UK a US gallon of regular unleaded (95 oct) costs $8.22...

Re: pcv oil trap replacement?
if you're taking the manifold off to get to the PCV system then just replace the entire thing, at 150k the pipes are going to be very brittle and most likely clogged, the oil trap should be replaced too and the ports on the block should be cleaned. When i did mine a couple of weeks ago at 70K the pi...

Re: Used 850 oil leaking
I’m with Alecw81. I would give the area a good clean up as you won't know where the oil is coming from unless it’s clear in there! Take off the spark plug cover and see how much oil is under there (I’m thinking quite a bit). See the replacing of the PCV system on this site as i can almost guarantee ...

Re: Tips or Tricks replacing Turbo oil pipe seals 855 T-5 RH
You've probably already done this, but i have been searching around and there isn't much information on it which is surprising as its a major fail item on the Turbo/T5/T5R/R. I had a bad oil leak on my 850R, i got the car on ramps and the underside was in a right state, oil everywhere! Took a while ...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder
Hello everyone this is my first post on this site and i would just like to show everyone what happens when you try and clean the brittle hoses to the PTC nipple on a 96 850 R! I thought i was going to be clever and removed the air intake that has the PTC nipple on the bottom of it. The process was v...
