Re: S80 No start condition ECM 3000 and 3010
Well Weather was good enough to finally look at my S80 and figure out why it isn't starting. After much research I located someone that went through a similar scenario, ECM codes 3000 and 3010 after timing belt change- a timing issue of course. It appears when I originally changed the belt, my intak...

Re: S80 No start condition ECM 3000 and 3010 Update
Over the weekend when the weather was more conducive for troubleshooting, I removed all the ignition coils so i could inspect for an oil breach. I discovered cylinder 4 was 1/4 full of oil. I theorize, when I re-installed the VVT solenoid behind the intake sprocket it may have been too loose or the ...

Re: S80 No start condition ECM 3000 and 3010
Thank you for answering Rick. When I read the codes, I only interpreted the actual code number and did not further investigate why they were triggered (actually I do not think my reader is capable of further diagnosing anything other than the code number). I am going to attempt to work on the car th...

S80 No start condition ECM 3000 and 3010
While fixing my thermostat housing nipple, I decided to change the timing belt/tensioner/idler pulley on my 03 s80 T6. During the housing repair I removed the intake VVT solenoid in order to facilitate the removing/installing thermostat housing cable. I also disconnected the two VVT solenoid connect...

Climate Control Modules Trouble Codes
Volvo Enthusiast, I am the original owner of a 03 S80 which has had its fair share of problems. The vehicle has 222K miles  and I'm trying to reach at least 500K. However I won't reach that goal uncomfortably. I'm having a really hot spring going into summer and hope someone can help. My air c...

S80 Heater Core Replacement
Please Help, I'm about to replace my heater core on my 03 S80 T6. The DIY instructs to remove the steering column prior to removal/installation. However there is a warning prior to removing the steering column: Caution! Cars with DSTC systems. When working on the steering or wheel alignment, the ada...

03 S80 No Power on Driver side dooe
Hello All, I want to first mention that prior to having the driver side door no power situation, my car sat for greater than a year (Phila. Pa area) due to a failed transmission. Transmission replaced and now the driver side door my 03 S80 is completely dead. No window, no mirror and no lock control...

Re: 2010 S80 T6 Fuel Pump Replacement Possible ECM Software Update?
It's possible that during the install, you may have damaged or mis-positioned the float on the pump. I alsochanged my pump and that happened to me too only my gauge would stop at half tank. I faced a choice of taking it apart again or ignoring the fact that the tank is full but only reads half. I ch...

Re: Car won't start and CEL flashes 7 times
Thank for the reply Cees, the alternator was working fine prior to he removal/install. And the battery was fully charged but again it's old as dirt. From what I read on a related thread, it could be related to the engine/transmission mating surface.my re-manufactured transmission surface could be pa...

Re: Transmission problem
My Friend, I can't say much for 06 S80's because I am not to familiar with anything above 2004. However if you have a GM 4t65e transmission in that car, you need either a rebuild or re manufactured transmission-sorry I feel your pain. I would first take it to a transmission shop and have them do a s...
