Re: 212 error on 1995 850 turbo
Ozark Lee, I am indeed using port A2. So, if 212 is a bad O2 Sensor, It seems to be in line with the other codes. Now, I'm a bit perplexed, I went from 17 to 26 mpg with the new O2 sensor (junkyard). I realized it could have gone bad (being used and all), but it seems like something else could be ca...

212 error on 1995 850 turbo
I'm getting a 212 error, it says "S2 solenoid short circuit to battery". How do I resolve this? What/Where is the "S2" solenoid? I recently changed the egr/pipe (from junkyard), so the 241 may just be a bad sensor. I still have the old one, to swap in. There's also a 521 (upstrea...

Volvo 840 Turbo?
Anyone out there ever think about putting an engine from a 740 turbo into a 850? With gas approaching $5 bucks a gallon, I'm wondering why not try getting a few mpg's more. A front wheel drive 4-cylinder turbo, w/manual 5-speed would rock! There seems to be quite a few 850's with blown engines, and ...

EGR REMOVAL--THE TRICK!!!
At Last, I got it out! Fortunately, I pulled both an egr and pipe from the junkyard. The old one is FUSED, just like you said. To remove the EGR/Pipe as a Unit: 1) Disconnect back side of pipe (22mm)--yes, a box wrench WILL fit, just slow going. 2) Disconnect the wire harness on the end of the steel...

Egr woes--95 turbo
I have my EGR removed from the manifold. The Large bolt (22mm) has been loosened and slid back. My problem, is I can NOT get the pipe out of the EGR Valve! At the junkyard, I had the same problem. I loosed the 22mm bolt from the back side, and removed the egr/pipe as a unit. Standing flat footed, a ...

Re: 232 Elbow--on 850 turbo
Over The Top sounds good to me! Is there a "pic" you can point me to for the other end? I haven't figured out a way to remove 1 stripped bolt on my spark plug cover. I'm thinking of drilling it, but at this point, the mpg is a bigger concern. Trying to cover all the vacuum issues before ch...

Re: heater fan
Is this "Climate Control", that is, two "Degrees" Dials vs. Manual Heat Control? Is the fan blowing HOT air full blast? For Starters, pull the fuse to stop the fan. There's three things basically: The Box itself, the blower motor, the temperature regulator (aka Resistor or Power ...

232 Elbow--on 850 turbo
Okay, I need a NEW elbow to cure my 232 code. I can clearly see it split wide open, just after the small clamp by the manifold. S-o-o-o, is it possible to replace this elbow WITHOUT removing the Intake Manifold? I'm seriously worried about the Aluminum threads getting stripped. I have stripped a few...

Re: 95 850 Turbo--Fuel Pressure Regulator
jblackburn, I think you're right. My 850 starts right up with about 1.5 seconds of cranking. I do not touch the gas pedal. I'll go after the check valve later. When the Air Pressure destroyed the diaphram in the fuel pressure regulator, I suspect it went back to the vacuum tree and then the idle con...
