2005 S80 T6 Transmission slips in 1st after a stop
HI, My transmission is slipping when I accelerate from a stop light. I press the gas pedal, the engine revs up about 500 rpm, the transmission sort of "clunks" into gear and off we go after about a half-second. This happens periodically - maybe once every twenty starts on average. It may b...

Re: What did I break?
FYI,
It was some cheap plastic elbow that connects the t-stat housing to the coolant reservoir via a hose.

What did I break?
Hi,
I'm attempting my first timing belt change on a 2005 S80 T6. I was removing the timing belt cover, heard a "pop" and saw coolant dripping out of this thing, (see image). What did I break? How do I replace it?

2005 S80 T6 Vibration
I'm experiencing vibration, most noticeably between 65 mph and 80 mph, when accelerating or decelerating. It almost fades away when driving at a constant speed on a level road. I'ts very bothersome when climbing or descending hills, (with the engine under load - up hill, or under engine braking - do...

Re: 2005 S80 Center Console Disassembly Procedure
Thanks for the help. I was able to get the shifter to move by removing the button, which gave access to the rod that releases the shift detent. The dealer replaced the shift handle for $100 in parts and 1/2 hour of labor. Pretty fair, I thought.

Re: 2005 S80 Center Console Disassembly Procedure
Bill, Thanks, this is excellent. Do you have any ideas about how to get the gear shift to shift out Park once I can get to it? It's parked in my garage, front towards the inside wall, so I can't get it towed to the shop until I can get in into neutral. I would hate to have the tow truck driver try t...

2005 S80 Center Console Disassembly Procedure
I can't shift my 05 S80 T6 out of park. The button on the front side of the shifter won't depress as far as it normally will. This happened about a month ago and I was able to get it working after fiddling with it for a minute or two. I can feel and hear something clicking in the shifter when I pres...

2005 T6 Transmission Fluid Change Interval?
Hi, Folks, I asked the dealer to change the fluid during my last service visit, (84,000 miles). He said that the fluid did not need to be changed yet. I'm uncomfortable leaving the fluid in for much longer based on the service history of the GM 4L65e-gt transmission. (as an aside, having put three 4...
