I have 2004 XC70 that is showing a CEL. I checked and the code is P0072 - Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Range/Performance. The CEL came on after I replaced the driver's side mirror housing - so I believe the two are connected. The outside air temp seems to be working fine based on the fact it shows...

I recently replaced the driver's side mirror on my 2004 XC70. For the most part, the repair went fine, except for the fact that the Check Engine light came on. Quick update on this project... I finally received the replacement driver's door mirror. All said and done, the fix was completed in about 20 minutes. That would certainly make things a bit easier. However, all the posts that I have read and discussions I have had with the dealer and my mechanic have led me to understand that the panel needs to come off to access the wiring harness for the motor.
Am I overthinking this?
