Re: 1996 850 Turbo Sedan stalling and sputtering
My car had similar problems, and on hot days it also seemed to be worse. I have replaced the fuel pump, plug wires, rotor and distributor cap. But after scanning the car the only error clode I have for ignition and fuel systems it 3-1-4 on A2 which is the cam shaft position sensor. It costs about 16...

Re: Idle problems
These cars acutally have a computer controlled idle. When the car senses that the idle is too low or high it will adjust the gass intake to a certain degree to try and get the correct idle speed.

Does anybody have a picture of what the end of the crankshaft looks like that you have to turn to time the car?

Re: A2 3-1-4 Error code problem
No, the car is not running, and I found the sensor. I just don't have the torx bit to take it out yet. My car atually still has the heat sheilding and it pulled away from the distributor using the same method as when it came out of the factory.

A2 3-1-4 Error code problem
I am getting the 3-1-4 error code on my ignition system. I know this could mean the signal is absent ( bad sensor) or faulty (out of time) is tyhere a way to tell without having to tear the car apart? And would changing the timing belt be too much of a problem for a novice to do?
