1990 740 Fan Replacement
My electric fan on my 90 740 turbo died today. Came on for about 10 seconds and then started to screech and then froze-up. Tried to move it with my hand and she is stuck. So my question is, what is a good replacement that others have done besides an OEM one? Do I even need to replace it? (My A/C has...

Re: '90 740 gauge issues and more
Could it just be the "computer" relearning?? And if so, would that take a couple of hours of driving time??

'90 740 gauge issues and more
I have a 90 740 Turbo wagon that is starting to give me problems. About 4 days ago I lost all power from the engine. Towed it to my mechanic and they replaced the mass air flow sensor and they said I was good to go. This morning I started the car and it idled very rough for about 20-30 seconds and s...

Re: 1990 740 Turbo electric fan question
Well... that answers that. So there is two modes of cooling.
Now is it normal for the electric fan to drag down the motor so hard. It takes about 200 rpms right off the idle. Could there be an issue with the alternator??

1990 740 Turbo electric fan question
I'm trying to figure this beast out... this is my second question for the forum... Why would my electric fan come on if the A/C is not activated?? My A/C has been broke for quite some time, to the point where there is no juice left in it. So why would the electric fan come on, if the motor has a clu...

Re: 1990 740 Turbo Idle setting
UPDATE! I did not have time this weekend to do the fuel inj. cleaner cleaning job, but did however (i think) fixed the low idle I thought I was having. This morning on my drive to work, I heard something under the car making a slapping noise. Ended up being a loose plastic shield. Got that tied up a...

Thanks Bill. I'm picking up a can and gasket this weekend and going to start there.

1990 740 Turbo Idle setting
I'm new to this group and this is my first question, so bear with me... I have a (new to me) 1990 740 Turbo wagon that seems to have a very low idle. It shows about 600-700 on the tach. I have done a search (the best I could) to try and find out what the correct idle speed should be. What is the cor...
