2007 S60 Need to replace passenger side mirror

My wife smashed the passenger side outside mirror backing out of the garage. My local garage says they would have to order all the pieces and assemble it all together which would cost an arm and a leg. Is it possible to buy a complete housing and put it on myself? Is that a difficult operation? I am...

Re: '07 S60 - Advice for Replacing Brakes

After a false start which wasted some time I was finally able to get the bolts out and the caliper loose. However, I couldn't pull the caliper off easily, I think because there is a nice rim on the rotor (Which is why I'm replacing them) that the pad catches on. Since the sun was going down and it w...

Re: '07 S60 - Advice for Replacing Brakes

Regent,

Since the weather is much nicer this weekend, I am going to attempt the brake change. In reading the PDFs, I see that Volvo tells me I need to replace the mounting screws when changing the rotors. Do I need to do this?

Thanks,
JP

Re: '07 S60 - Advice for Replacing Brakes

Regent, Thanks for the PDFs. I noticed I mistakenly said S70 in my last post, I meant S60. So to be sure, to loosen the parking brake cable I do so from the cabin by lifting off the dust cover and twisting the knob thingy counter-clockwise. Looking at the picture, it shows the parking brake engaged,...

Re: '07 S60 - Advice for Replacing Brakes

Guys, Thanks for all the info, especially the PDFs, very helpful! The Rear Disc files does say: Note: In some cases the parking brake adjustment must be released in order to remove the brake disc. Is that the case on the S70? If so, do I need an adjustable wrench to loosen any bolts or anything? Tha...

'07 S60 - Advice for Replacing Brakes

I want to replace the brake pads and rotors on my '07 S60 and after reading the forums for a bit, I have a couple of concerns that I'd like some advice on. First, while I've replaced disc brakes before on other cars, this will be the first time on my Volvo. I see that the brakes have this spring tha...

Re: S60 Engine Fan Question

Jimmy,

Thanks for the help. I'll try your suggestion, probably tomorrow morning as I am at work and my wife has the S60.

S60 Engine Fan Question

I have an '07 S60 with 78k miles on it. I just noticed yesterday that the engine fan seems to be running all the time. As an experiment, I went out this morning and started the car and indeed the engine fan came on and looks to be running full bore (I don't know if it can speed up or down but it's r...
