850, lots of boost + how to go even faster?

Hooooooly crap. I just have the feeling that we're all being trolled. Hoooooooly crap. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife... We have a member who happens to know a little bit about Subies. And we also have an OP who is picking up questionable info from all over the web. The last thing I would want to do wo...

850, lots of boost + how to go even faster?

No subaru engine can withstand 1000 hp without being FULLY built. Even then the stock block wouldn't last very long at all. You might get away with 750 or so on a built ej257 shortblock. Sorry for getting off topic but that was too much to let go:) I am interested to see where/if you take this. Best...

M47 clutch cable at fork removal - '87 240

So, I ended up using a small block of wood with a very long zip tie stapled to it to hold the fork in the "engaged" (clutch pedal in) position. This created enough slack on the clutch cable to pull the counterweight (large rubber looking, but actually metal) piece off. Then the ball end of...

M47 clutch cable at fork removal - '87 240

Hi all, I have looked through both my Haynes and chilton, this site and the interwebs for an explanation of how to remove the clutch cable at the clutch fork on an m47 5 speed transmission with no luck. I need to replace the clutch fork dust cover The one on the car originally was too big and got su...

I am a newb to Volvo and this site, but coming from subarus I love the forums and this one is a treasure chest so far! Anyway... I have an'84 240 sedan with a manual tranny that has been diagnosed as having a bad rear diff by several others more qualified than myself. I also have an '84 240 sedan wi...

1987 760 Turbo White Smoke

My first thought just after reading the title was your turbo. Is the intercooler filmed with blow-by? Do you have a boost gauge, if not is acceleration poor?

removing overdrive relay from 1990 240

The relay is free from any clips to the dashboard, its not a matter of not being able to move it. I just can't separate the switch from the plug in/wires. There seems to be one side or prong that doesn't want to come out. Three sides of the relay seem to separate, the fourth side is stuck tight. Is...
