No subaru engine can withstand 1000 hp without being FULLY built. Even then the stock block wouldn't last very long at all. You might get away with 750 or so on a built ej257 shortblock. My first thought just after reading the title was your turbo. Is the intercooler filmed with blow-by? Do you have a boost gauge, if not is acceleration poor?

The relay is free from any clips to the dashboard, its not a matter of not being able to move it. I just can't separate the switch from the plug in/wires.
