Does the usa spec run off of a FM frequency, or does it hardwire to the stereo and create an auxiliary port that allows for the music to stream directly to the speaker?

I am confused about the audio issues surrounding the v70. I want to change my stock radio to a double dim after market, but I cannot seem to figure out the process. Any suggestions welcome, as I am totally lost.
