Re: 2002 V70 Passenger Window/Lock switch

I'm in the same boat, can I pick up a boneyard replacement or do I have to use the dealer? Yes, it's plug n play. Get the same PN as in your vehicle. Make sure the battery is disconnected prior to removal of old unit and install of junkyard unit. Follow battery reconnect procedure. There is no need...

Re: 2001 Volvo V70 door lock problem

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a functional keyfob? If so, from outside the car, lock and unlock the system three times. This helps engage the security system. I believe you can also do this with the key in the driver's door lock. If that doesn't work, go to the cargo bay and check fuse #8 (for r...

Re: Fuel filler door won't unlock Topic is solved

Fuel filler door motor repaired. The most work was disassembling the rear cargo area. 12 volts was getting to the motor when commanded. I disassembled, inspected (no broken gears), then cleaned and lubricated the gears with silicone spray. Once reinstalled, it has functioned properly. This Youtube v...

Re: Fuel filler door won't unlock Topic is solved

Thanks. The earlier V70's actually had a manual release back there. I guess Volvo implemented a cost savings starting in 2001. Looks like you just added the manual release back. :D

I'll probably look at the current motor, and replace it with a junkyard part if it can't be repaired.

Re: Fuel filler door won't unlock Topic is solved

Actuator is behind the cargo bay wall (carpeted), and another baffle. Was hoping to avoid taking it all apart. If/when I do, I'm sure the manual tab will be on it. Youtube video will also be helpful once I remove the actuator. FCPEuro sells the part cheaper than a Volvo OEM parts website I originall...

Re: Fuel filler door won't unlock Topic is solved

Thanks June for your response. I'm the original owner with the original Owner's Manual. No manual or emergency release on the 2001 V70 T5. Fuel filler door locking/unlocking is all tied to the central locking system, which works (other than the fuel door).

Fuel filler door won't unlock Topic is solved

Went to fill-up this morning and the fuel filler door wouldn't unlock. My T5 doesn't have the push button unlock on the dash like the XC70's. I've tried the keyfob and key in driver's side door lock, but no luck. I double checked fuse #8 in the cargo bay (good), and also confirmed that the fuel fill...

Re: Timing belt question

Just a hint from a 2001 V70 T5 manual transmission owner for the last 18 and 1/2 years...I've never gotten better than 25 mpg on any "highway" trip running 70-75 mph. If you want 30+ mpg, you will need to buy an NA or a different model.

Glad you got your timing straightened out.

Yes, there is a 15A fuse in slot #7. See photo.

Re: 2nd row 12v wiring and cargo auxilary 12v install

It is said on a Volvo forum (from 2004) on another site that when the cargo 12v option is installed, its always on regardless of ignition key position. Anyone know if that is true? I have the optional 12V cargo outlet. It's always on regardless of key ignition. The front seat and 2nd row 12V outlet...
