OBD Code P0027

I have a 2006 S60 with 114k miles with a bit of an oil sludge problem (not severe). Replaced the PCV system and flushed the engine with Liqui Moly - no chunks came out... Also now change the oil every 3k miles and use Pennzoil Platinum. Got OBD Code P0027 on it a few times and replaced the variable ...

Re: Redline Gear Oil

One final update from my side. Spent the Memorial Day weekend working on the Volvo. Used the turorials from the repair database with great success. Drained and flushed the transmission using 10.5 quarts of Mobil ATF 3309. Replaced the front angle drive and rear differential fluids with Red Line 75W9...

S60 difficult to start...

I need some advice on engine starting problems. I recently replaced the crankcase ventilation system. As part of the job I also replaced the fuel injectors with a set of rebuilt units. Cleaned out the throttle body and the intake manifold. Also replaced the fuel filter. The repair job went very well...

Re: Redline Gear Oil

Here's an update. Redline has a compatibility page on their website where you can enter your vehicle data. According to this compatibility check their gear oil is an acceptable alternative for the S60 angle drive as well as the rear differential. I have some on order from Idp but have decided to sti...

Redline Gear Oil

I apologize in advance since this topic is probably well covered, but here's my question. Is it acceptable to use Redline Gear Oil on the angle drive as well as the rear differential of a 2006 S60 AWD? The car has 105k miles and i don't believe the driveline has ever been serviced. I noticed that th...

Re: 2006 S60 Intake Manifold

In fact, twice during the course of the job I considered removing at least the PS pump & if I ever had to repeat this repair I definitely will do so. I wasted a lot of time trying to get this single bolt removed & much of it due to the very limited access. Would have saved a lot of aggrevati...

Re: 2006 S60 Intake Manifold

OK, the job is done & here's my final update. Even though the far left manifold bolt-hole is slotted you still have to remove the thermostat to replace the manifold gasket. The bolt does not back out all the way with the thermostat in place, it pushes up against the thermostat housing. This mean...

Re: 2006 S60 Intake Manifold

Yes indeed, it is!!
Discovered that just now, after removing the thermostat.
No worries though, I may just replace the thermostat as well.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

Re: 2006 S60 Intake Manifold

Here's an update - with some creative use of extensions and a 10mm crowfoot wrench I managed to loosen the bolt. However, it won't come out completely - it seems to back up against the thermostat housing anyway. Looks like the only option is to remove the thermostat first. You will save a lot of tim...
