226,000 km Timing Belt Replacement
My timing belt was replaced at about 114,000 km. I'm now at 224,000 km and I was going to replace it again at 226,000 km (140,000 miles). I was wondering what components I should replace along with the belt (tensioner, water pump, pulleys, etc.). BTW, it has the automatic hydraulic tensioner. Thanks...

I've also been getting ridiculously low gas mileage, and the OBDII computer says that its an EVAP vacuum leak. The sensors also are often the problem, but there are hundreds of other possibilities. I just fixed this same problem in my '98 S70 T5. There is a black retangular box up under the car, ne...

Sway Bar Bushings - '98 S70 T5
Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is any way to just replace the sway bar bushings on my S70 and not the whole sway bar. From what I read, I understand that the bushings are "built-in" to the sway bar itself. I also read something on Volvospeed about trying to get the bushings off t...

I was kind of glad to see this post. I am having exactly the same problem as Matthew on my '98 S70 T5 (133,000 miles). The steering is loose and the car seems to pull whatever way the road is tipped. The road is almost always tipped a bit to the right so I am constantly having to hold the wheel to t...

Turn Signal Won't Automatically Shut Off - '98 S70
I'm having a problem with my turn signal not turning off when it's supposed to. After making a turn, the signal will not click off when the steering wheel returns to centre. I suspect there is something broken off inside the steering column. Does anybody know what I should check or how I can fix thi...

To test the air pump you don't even have to take it out of the car. The relay for the pump is located under the hood in a kidney shaped box in front of the fuse box (I think there are three tabs used to release the cover from this box). Under the cover is a diagram explaining what each of the relays...

I don't think there is anything wrong with the car. You'll notice that it won't shift out of park if your foot is not on the brake, the shifter will be locked. When you do press the brake, whatever is locking the shifter disengages and you'll be able to shift out of park. I think that the click soun...

Just an update: I was reading on Volvospeed, yesterday, how to test the air pump and it's relay. The relay is located in a kidney shaped box (for S70 and V70's), under the hood, in front of the fuse box. This kidney shaped box contains more relays and the main fuses. There are four relays in a row a...
