850 T5 Wagon Rear screen washer nozzle

Can anyone help please? It is my intention to remove the headlight wash wipe system from my T5, they are a constant source of irritation and instead I am going to install a washer nozzle/jet on each side aimed at the headlight and I will use the existing electrics, reservoir, pump and pipework. It o...

Safeguard my investment

Hi all, Instead of fitting an expensive vehicle tracking system, like for example the COBRA TRAK 5 (UK Thatcham approved) at a cost of about £650 sterling plus service and maintenance costs thereafter; can anyone suggest a way in which I could immobilise the ignition circuit on my 1994 T5, so that i...

Re: Engine mount - top

I cut mine out too with a small hacksaw and if you search the site you will find a thread on how to do this. I did the job, it took 45 minutes including the time removing the old bushing. Instead of pipe flanges I used two 0.5 kg round YORK weights from my son's dumbells, a 6 inch 9.6 mm threaded bo...

Re: Bailey venturi dump valve

Hi Vegas,

Thanks for your advice, I will follow what you suggest and avoid installing a dump valve; a boy racer I am not, maybe 30 years ago, reckless boy that was!!!

Thanks again,

James.

Hello MiJ,

Can you explain stage zero, or direct me to where I can find it on the site?

Thanks,

James.

Re: Rpm at 70

Apologies, I read your post again, at 3000 to 3200 at 70 mph, your car is over-revving, my figures will be a guide only, though the exact figures should be available somewhere.

Re: Rpm at 70

I know that this is not an entirely fair comparison, but my 2.5 10v GLT auto box did 70 mph at 2500 rpm and 55 mph at 2000 rpm and tick-over at 900 rpm, mpg was in the region of 30 in or out of town. Sounds to me like yours is about spot on.

How to improve air flow to the turbo

1994 Volvo 855 T5 UK Spec 101,500 original miles. Excellent site, I can't praise it highly enough guys!! I appreciate that what I am about to ask is fairly fundamental to all of you, but I am not sure that I fully understand the air flow plumbing on my T5. I have seen various posts on improving the ...
