Re: Timing Belt Replacement: Exhaust Cam rolled forward
New Plugs, Wires and Distributor Cap and rotor. Road Test: Hit 70mph. Error codes thrown P0301 and P0302. Engine shudders. While the engine was running, I pulled each plug one at a time, checking for spark. Each had spark and the engine resumed when I replaced each plug. I will swap out NKG to Volvo...

Re: Timing Belt Replacement: Exhaust Cam rolled forward
Reassembled. New plugs. Road test.
P0301 thrown at 60MPH.
I pulled the #1 plug when I got home. No oil. Looked fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Timing Belt Replacement: Exhaust Cam rolled forward
Ok. Got it back open. Yes I need to change the plugs: photo-2.JPG I linked up the Crank Shaft exactly. (took out plug to reduce pressure really helped) photo-1.JPG Now looking at the Exhaust and Intake. Notice exhaust is advanced. When I initially did this job, the exhaust rolled forward on me. I di...

Re: Timing Belt Replacement: Exhaust Cam rolled forward
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Rolled it back into place. (Next time I'll remove a spark plug to relieve pressure).
Test drive:
At low speeds all seems fine.
High speed (45mph, uphill), engine shudders
Throws P0301, P0445.
Suggestions? Obviously, I didn't get it right.(grrr)

Timing Belt Replacement: Exhaust Cam rolled forward
After getting every thing lined up (exhaust/intake/crankshaft markings), I pulled off the old timing belt, replaced the tensioner and idler, felt good to go. When I checked the markings again, I noticed the Exhaust Cam had rolled forward (clock-wise), leaving it no longer in alignment. Intake and Ca...
