URO Defective Fuel Senders

URO is selling defective fuel senders; part number 1367253. The float leaks: air escapes, fuel gets into the float replacing the air, the float sinks to the bottom of the tank, and the fuel gauge reads empty even when the tank is full. The holes appear to be under the metal arm it is attached to. So ...

Re: Haldex Electrical Resistance

Check Engine light was on.
Occasionally heard a “clunk” sound typically followed by ABS & Traction warning lights.
Although there were like 20 codes set, dealer could not find anything wrong.
Dealer cleared codes; Check engine light came back on the next day.
Car would not pass state inspection with ...

Re: Haldex Electrical Resistance

Great - thanks for the info.
My suspect motor also has ~2.2 ohm terminal to terminal.
But, either terminal to housing is about 30K ohms. Wire insulation breaking down maybe?

Re: 2006 XC70 CAN Problem? Many Many Codes

Just wanted to do a follow-up on this issue.

I went through car & removed, and in some cases cleaned, every CAN module & connector.
Car has gone 2 months now without problems or codes.
BUT - I am beginning to think rear differential hydraulic Haldex motor is failing and that may be root cause of ...

Haldex Electrical Resistance

2006 XC70
I suspect that rear differential pump motor is starting to fail. I did your test of putting battery voltage to motor terminals & runs ok.

Do you know what the electrical resistance is supposed to be for both:
Motor terminal to terminal ?
Motor terminal to motor housing?

Thanks!

Painting Headlight Lens

Headlight lens’ are totally frosted over – again.
Last time I cleaned and polished with Simichrome and put on a silicone “wax.” It was about 5 hours work, but they looked new.
Two years later they look just as bad & maybe even worse!
On Youtube I saw someone recommending, after polishing, coating ...

2006 XC70 CAN Problem? Many Many Codes

2006 XC70 is having a bunch of intermittent CAN problems (I think).
Feels like brakes are applied (Traction Control), PRND indicator on IP shows a dash, ABS light comes on, DIM displays Transmission Service Required, and other various indications. Check Engine light stays on. Displays a gazillion ...

2006 XC-70 Tires

2006 XC-70 with Bridgestone Ensignium SE 200 size 215 65 R16 tires need replacement & I’m not really happy with handling.

Considering going wider to 225 65 R16 Goodyear Eagle LS2 or Michelin MXV4.
Will 225 fit without hitting?
(I know this tire will be a little taller and actual speed may be higher ...
