04 xc70, cut out HU-613 face panel to fit 2DIN radio?
As well known, The radio face panel color for 04 is a one year deal. It is very hard to find a 100% matching color panel for it. Besides, if I use one of those available panel, I will lost the pocket on the left of the stock radio. I received a new 2 DIN aftermarket radio last week and a Volvo 2 DIN...

Re: 2007 XC Drivers seat swap
I have a 2004 XC70 and I had removed the driver side leather seat cover from the foam so I could repair it. It was not technically difficult but it took some time and a lots of details. If you document the steps when you take them apart, you can put them back easily. There are some good DIY's on thi...

Re: 2004 XC70 Replacement keys
try to pry antenna out of plastic or replicate antenna yourself, solder it to long wires and hide together with key anywhere you want. Hm, that's an idea. From your picture, you can tell there is no room in the ring for the transponder. I tried to put it outside of that, but it was not reliable. I ...

Re: 2004 XC70 Replacement keys
I have heard some people had done it. For this car, however, when I tried that, I was having hard time to put the transponder in a place that is secure and functional. It is very sensitive about the location where you put it. I could make it work, but have hard time to make it work consistently. So ...

Re: 2004 S60 Strange Xenon headlight problem
My 04 XC70 once had similar problem while I was driving on the freeway. I flashed the high beam several time while continue driving corrected that. I read about this issue somewhere this was caused by the jam in the light assembly. I then cleaned them up. It's been good for few moths now.

Re: 2004 XC70 - Possible purchase, looking for input!
Welcome! It looks like you are a DIYer and have already done a lot of homework. I think that's the most import requirements if you want to own this car. I owned a 2001 and now own a 2004. 2004 is a better year for XC70. Everyone in my household is a driver and everyone likes this car. However, I do ...

Re: 2004 S60 multi electrical failure
Considering what happened to the car while you were away, I would fully change the battery first. Then disarm the alarm by using your key and remote. Then start the car if you could. If you still not able to start the car, your car could be disabled by the security system. Google around for the proc...
