I have been looking for an 855/V70R for a long time. Please consider me as very serious and willing to transact ASAP, as I currently don't have a working car due to supply chain issues on necessary parts.
My biggest concern is rust -- what's the situation in that arena?

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
https://mobile.craigslist.org/cto/d/1999-volvo-v70r/6285703820.html I looked at this car today. I wouldn't take it if they gave it to me for free. It's actually a MY 2000, not 1999 as listed. Body/Interior: The interior is destroyed and has been smoked in heavily. The wheels all have curb rash, 2 of...

Complete list of parts for effortless manual trans swap?
Alas, my poor 855 has died a sad death. I will strip it of all the "special" parts & accessories I have put on it (some of which I will probably list for sale here), then haul it to the scrapyard. My question right now has to do with the manual gearbox. I want to keep it and all the re...

Re: 1999 V70R AWD prepurchase tips
If you do proceed make sure you get all of the keys and the remote keyfobs. They are insanely expensive to replace and you are captive to the dealership to do it since they need to be married to the car in software. Used keyfobs cannot be reprogrammed. ...Lee Thanks. I'm planning to walk away if th...

Re: 1999 V70R AWD prepurchase tips
If it has Nivomat, I would switch to standard suspension as soon as it started acting up or if I were already doing work back there (e.g., replacing brakes or bushings). Is the Nivomat an option, or was it standard on the V70R? I've never dealt with it before.

Re: 1999 V70R AWD prepurchase tips
How interchangeable is the suspension with the 850? I would like to transfer my Konis, Eibachs, and IPD swaybars if possible, although the rear is unlikely to match up due to the AWD. If I buy a USDM 850R or V70R, it will definitely be destined for a manual gearbox swap. Automatics and Geartronics a...

1999 V70R AWD prepurchase tips
There is a 1999 V70R AWD for sale in town, and before I take a look at it, can anyone give me some advice on what to look for? My initial triage will determine whether I want to pay a Volvo shop for a thorough prepurchase inspection. 1. How does the 1999 V70R compare to other P80 R models? Should I ...

Re: 1996 855 Rear quarter window replacement
I have a $500 deductible, plus a lot of claims in the past 2 years, so filing an insurance claim is not an option. No-deductible glass repair only applies to the windshield in my state. I looked up a Safelite quote online and it was $250. I'll do it myself for anything under $100 out-of-pocket.
