Volvo S60 saved his life!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvxDOAI0bRk In this country there's a growing demand for in-car surveillance, for when something happens it'll be recorded on tape. A BMW changing lanes in wet weather hit this 2011 Volvo S60. (RWD tailspin?) ha! Immediately, we see that the DSTC applied brakes to keep...

Re: Chinese Volvo S80 L

Here's a human translation :-) 1st minute: the Chinese Volvo S80 follows BMW and Audi in this market segment in lengthening the wheelbase; the model is all wheel drive (which in addition to the CV joints also makes the car draw a larger circle around turns). Model reviewed is the 3.0T engine; the gu...

Domesticated Geely Volvo S80 L

I'm posting this for your entertainment. This is a Chinese review of a Chinese-produced Volvo S80 with long wheelbase, which places it right up there with the Audis and BMWs.. Youtube I'm really not a fan of chrome Chinese characters on-a my car. The Chinese computer interface is quite welcoming, th...

I couldn't stop laughing.

But apparently the marque modification was unnecessary, as Volvo means "I roll" in Latin. So.... ROFLVO, guys!!

Re: Geely, Ford sign Volvo deal

Volvo has solid base in China already with a production plant in China (Ford-Mazda-Volvo). They make the S40 and S80 exclusively. They're also making the S80L in China, which is like the Executive Series but following the Lexus and BMW "L" convention..

Geely, Ford sign Volvo deal

I hope Volvo will regain its market dominance under the new administration. Anyone else just die a little inside just now? By MATTHEW DOLAN And NORIHIKO SHIROUZU China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. bought Volvo cars from Ford Motor Co. on Sunday for $1.8 billion, a landmark agreement designed t...

Re: Matt's Volvo Blog #4 - Volvo Rot :: Discussion area ::

I'm following up with an article that somewhat illustrates my point. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704359504575045131917738188.html Take Toyota's latest troubles with its marquee car, the Prius. Even amid its runaway-acceleration traumas, the company was hit this week with Japanese a...

Re: Matt's Volvo Blog #4 - Volvo Rot :: Discussion area ::

When I first came to this site in 2003, in one of the first articles I read, Matthew "blogged" about why would you buy a Volvo. Paraphrasing, he said "If you are expecting Volvos to be as reliable as your Camry, you would be disappointed. But it's for the other things-- the Volvo's sa...

Re: Fine S80 murdered for "cash for clunkers"

Cars like the S80 were a waste to just disable like this. But the program fails to address the older cars that are getting less than posted because of wear and tear, yet are ineligible because they can get 19+ mpg when it was new.
