2002 S80 Transmission Problem Codes P0742 and P0842
The car will not start off in drive or 3rd. It acts like it is neutral. I can drive the car if I manually shift (it is not the slap-shift transmission), starting in 1st and it will even shift into overdrive, but it is very delayed and the car must be warm. First seems to slip, but the rest of the ge...

Re: Value of a high mileage 2000 S70
Its roadworthy, I just took it for an hour and a half drive. I'm in Michigan, where you can drive a car until it literally falls apart on the road, so no inspections. It really drives like its got 100k on it.

Re: Value of a high mileage 2000 S70
Maybe I would be better off parting it out. It would be a shame the way it drives though.

Value of a high mileage 2000 S70
I have a naturally aspirated 2000 S70 that I'm getting ready to sell. It has 360,000 miles on it but it runs and drives great. The body still looks pretty nice too. I was just wondering what would be a reasonable asking price. I was told by the previous owner that the tranny has about 150k on it and...

Re: Oil on cam cover
Well for the price I guess thats worth a try. The one that's on it is fairly new but it never felt real tight.
Thanks

Re: Oil on cam cover
The car is non turbo.I did clean that port and it was really clogged. I had to blow some air through to get any flow at all. I'll do a compression test when I get a chance, but judging by the way it runs I would be surprised if the rings are blowing by that much.

Oil on cam cover
I just got my 2000 S70 running again. I did the cam seals and pcv system. I am still getting oil all over the top of the engine. Would the pcv system be clogged inside of the block? Could I just blow back through the line that runs to the top of the engine? I made sure it was clear when I put the pc...

Re: Codes P0106 and P1119 after cam cover reseal

I got the car running yesterday. Its going on 400k miles, I'd like to see it make half a million.

Re: Codes P0106 and P1119 after cam cover reseal
Thanks for the reply Lee, The hub was removed by the previous owner, so I reset the vvt with instructions I found online. I found two slightly different sets of instructions. The first one, which I used, stated that the center screw had to be torqued to 35nm and that the three bolts on the cam gear ...

Codes P0106 and P1119 after cam cover reseal
I just replaced the head gasket on a 2000 S70 that I paid scrap price for. The car ran great after that, beside an issue with a plugged oil pump screen that I have taken care of, but was losing a lot of oil from the cam cover seal. So I pulled it back of and resealed it with the sealant from the Vol...
