I just got my 2000 S70 running again. I did the cam seals and pcv system. I am still getting oil all over the top of the engine. Would the pcv system be clogged inside of the block? Could I just blow back through the line that runs to the top of the engine? I made sure it was clear when I put the pcv back on, but it seems like it is still building pressure. I also replaced the oil cap gasket. Its looks like that is where its coming from.

Maybe worn piston rings, do a compression test.

Did you clean out the port at the bottom of the oil trap, where oil drains back into the block? This is the main trouble spot for PCV clogs.

The car is non turbo.I did clean that port and it was really clogged. I had to blow some air through to get any flow at all. I'll do a compression test when I get a chance, but judging by the way it runs I would be surprised if the rings are blowing by that much.

I had the same issue. The oil cap never felt like it sealed properly. I doubled up on the gasket and I don't have oil under my spark plug cover anymore.

Good advice here. Make sure that lower port is clear and that you DO NOT have smoke still coming up the dipstick when you rev up the motor.
If that's all good, then replace the oil cap seal or get another cap.
I've also had problems with that hose to the top of the cam cover seating correctly and leaking oil.

If you had to blow the port going into the motor to open it up, it may be a good thing to change the oil filter, if you haven't done that after the PCV fix.
