Re: Rims

This may give an idea about the genuine wheels offered. The 18" and even the 17" may give a rather harsh ride on poor roads. The 18" will also rub at full lock

Re: Trickle charging non-daily drivers

Until you set up the charger, I would try driving around the block every week for 5-10 minutes. And maybe get an idea about your battery health, older batteries will still crank very well but may no longer keep a full charge (so it may discharge more while parked). These cars have an issue when the ...

Re: Trickle charging non-daily drivers

If there's not enough answers, I'd also try on this UK forum, they use trickle chargers quite a bit https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=19

Re: Slight hesitation upon initial acceleration 2003 V70

In theory the throttle body for the NA is quite simple inside but there is a plastic gear that may still get some play to it. Hard to say without opening it, and opening it is risky, however any used one is plug and play. Usually when the key turns in POSII without starting, the tb will buzz for a w...

Re: Shift knob boot

. I will add this, there is a clip at the top of the boot, it is oriented in a certain way when putting it back, then as in the video above, need to undo the plate with the digits, and I believe the boot is either glued or stapled to the plate. Need to detach first the boot at the top, then pull the...

Re: what temp is overheating?

Yes, at least the genuine ones. You may also want to check the tiny backflow hose near the cap, the clamp must be tight to keep the system pressure

Re: what temp is overheating?

As above, actually the radiator fan will start spinning at 105C . Cruising coolant temp is around 90C, thermostat opens from 90 to 95C full open. Gage needle is still in the middle at 105C. You have a burnt bulb at the message display

Re: Lemforder

All companies are changing continuously. The Lemforder strut mount bearing is bad, their individually sold control arm bushings are bad, their tie rods, end link and ball joints may stlil be good. Rule of thumb: if it's cheap is bad

Re: possible fix for slow tire leak

That's quite a drop overnight. Three causes: small nail causing small leak - may be hard to find. Sticking valve - may work intermittent and hardly show a bubble with soapy water. Indeed corrosion on the wheel at the tire bead - not much to do other than try to remove the tire and put more of that b...
