2006 S40 AC squeals on cold start
My S40 T5 recently started to squeal on cold starts. When look under the car while it starts, I can see the air conditioning clutch spin while it squeals and then stops spinning as soon as the squealing stops. This usually happens for about 10 seconds. When I run the AC it doesn't make that sound an...

Re: 2005 S40 2.4i correct rpm at idle?
I have a t5 and when I turn on the AC it doesn't impact the idle. Not sure if that helps but I figured some information is better than none.

Re: Starting issue after recent overhaul
After trying many things, I think I figured it out. Needed to do the lock/unlock routine 5 times to reset the alarm system and now everything seems ok - the car has started several times without an issue.

Starting issue after recent overhaul
So I recently replaced the cam seals and did timing/belt/water pump/acc belt maintenance and two weeks later my S40 is having trouble starting and I'm hoping someone has some ideas if they are related or coincidence. The battery seems ok (just volt tested) and if I disconnect/connect it enough times...

2006 S40 T5 not starting - timing?
I changed out my timing belt and now my S40 won't start. It is not the full cranking sound but it sounds like it is trying to turn over.
My best theory is that the timing is off after replacing the intake cam seal. Looking for other ideas and/or instructions on how to time the motor from scratch.

Re: Front Camshaft Oil Leak
I was surprised the seal looked as clean as it did when I pulled the gear off.
The surface where the seal rides has a film of oil and looked smooth. I'll take another look at it tonight and look for any blemishes.

Re: Front Camshaft Oil Leak
Thanks guys for the links and PDFs. It is all very useful. I now have the gear off to find the leak. Problem is that I don't know which (seal vs gear) is causing the problem. The seal looks good. I know the leak is coming from seal/gear because oil fans out from below it, covering the timing belt an...

Front Camshaft Oil Leak
I am slowly taking my 2006 S40 Turbo apart to replace a leaky front intake cam seal. Looking through the forums, it has been tough to find step-by-step instructions for replacing 2004+ S40 cam seals and I need some help. Currently, I have the rear of the cams locked into position and about to remove...

Camshaft Plug Removal
This is my first post on the forum. I've used much of the advice here and it has been great. Now I am stuck at a seemingly simple place and have exhausted the powers of Google. I am getting ready to lock the rear of my cams and replace my front cam seals that are leaking - my trouble is removing the...
