The first thing I do is crawl underneath and see if the drive shaft is still hooked up.

The other test is on the road. If the AWD is working you get very little if any torque steer. If the AWD is disabled then it torque steer just like a FWD.

I would snag a accelerator pedal assembly from a junk yard if you can find one. That seems to be VIDAs biggest complaint.

I don't think the pedal sensor has to be married in software to the car but I could be wrong, I have swapped ETMs between cars and left the original pedal sensor there.

I had a similar intermittent issue on my Platinum Edition and it took me forever to find the problem. In my case the wiring harness rubbed against the amplifier for the stereo which has really sharp cooling fins and rubbed a hole in the insulation and shorted it to chassis ground.
