Re: 2008 s60: CEM-DD00, CEM-DD01 Headlights go ON and OFF, Fuel filler door open/close

Well... Weird thing is that the problem has not occurred for the last 4 to 5 days. My intent was to open up the CEM over the weekend. I don't know if there is any benefit removing the CEM and probing it while the system is in "working" order. Frankly, I prefer the problem comes back so I c...

Re: 2008 s60: CEM-DD00, CEM-DD01 Headlights go ON and OFF, Fuel filler door open/close

Thanks for the additional info, Rick! Checked the brown wire - and yes it is connected to ground, and the same for the green-white wire - which I think is the source of my problem. I will make time to access the CEM over the weekend and check thoroughly. Just a note: I understand now why the CEM ove...

Re: 2008 s60: CEM-DD00, CEM-DD01 Headlights go ON and OFF, Fuel filler door open/close

Actually, there is no CPM behind the bumper. The connection point for the CPM actually terminates there and is capped. But it is a good testing point. I did a quick check of 'continuity' between the green-white wire at the 'CPM' connection and the green wire at the LSM - they are connected. However,...

Re: 2008 s60: CEM-DD00, CEM-DD01 Headlights go ON and OFF, Fuel filler door open/close

Thank you, Rick! That's very helpful. I looked quickly under the left bumper and found a connection point that includes the 'green-white' wire. There is also a 'green-white' wire at the LSM (middle wire). I presume the same wire connects at the CEM - I'll access the CEM and check when time allows. W...

2008 s60: CEM-DD00, CEM-DD01 Headlights go ON and OFF, Fuel filler door open/close

Hi All, I have a 2008 S60 2.5T FWD with 91K miles with a the following problem. Intermittently, the headlights would come ON and OFF, the fuel filler door would open and then close, and the dash digital readings go dim and then brighten up. I cannot reproduce the problem at will, but it happens spor...

Re: 2003 Volvo XC70 PS Inner CV joint leak

GBS, I was wandering about your final fix of the leaking CV joint. I have a very similar scenario--in my case, the old joint was leaking, then put a new one on and that was leaking, and yet put another new one on, and that was leaking. Are we all sure that the joint/boot is the culprit? How about ot...

Re: 2002 XC70 Unveven Axle/Wheel Rotation after CV Joint Wor

It is very, very possible! The passenger side axle (empire) from FCP was actually spitting grease just like the old one at the inner boot. I took it off and put one from Advanced--I just could not wait too long for another replacement. It is fine so far. One other thing: I know for sure that the swa...

Re: 2002 XC70 Unveven Axle/Wheel Rotation after CV Joint Wor

Got the new axles from FCP. I feel like I should have kept the old OEM axles now that I know that the vibration was not caused by them. Well... The passenger side was spitting some grease although the axle looked new (with Volvo tags and all), and I thought the driver's side was making 'squeeky' sou...

Re: 2002 XC70 Unveven Axle/Wheel Rotation after CV Joint Wor

Yah, I should have replaced the ball joints. Perhaps my next steps are bearing and ball joint replacement. I like to know what exactly fixes the vibration, so I may end up doing one after another. Then again, I may end up doing it all at once. My only worry about the vibration is the possibility tha...

Re: 2002 XC70 Unveven Axle/Wheel Rotation after CV Joint Wor

I did check for any any kind of wheel play by grabbing and the tires at 12 and 6 o'clock and 3 and 9 o'clock positions - very tight, no play at all. Control arms are new (Meyle HD). The fact that they don't have steering stops kinda bother me. The old OEM part did have one, but these ones don't have...
