If you're not experiencing any performance issues, it's likely a case of bad bearings. Rebuild it yourself, and save a few bucks.

Re: 1997 960 wagon spits back added coolant

Please clarify what you mean by "spits out of the reservoir" You either have a cracked reservoir, a leaking hose, or a bad reservoir cap. It shouldn't be too difficult to diagnose. Don't waste money on antifreeze until you've got it fixed. I'd advise against driving the car in this conditi...

Assuming that you don't have an aftermarket security system, it sounds like the electrical portion of the ignition switch, like Mike said.

If there was that much endplay, I wouldn't put it back together without addressing the bottom end. It might make more sense to find a used engine at this point.

Re: 1997 S90 Value ? Is this the right place to post ?

I'm loving that color, what a beautiful car! Man, I wish I was closer to South Carolina. In my neck of the cactus, 960's and S90's max out around $2500 on craigslist, even in nice shape. I bought mine for $900 in good mechanical shape, with a decent interior. I've considered it to be an outstanding ...

Replace the oil trap and the seal on the block side. It's a disposable part, and meant to be replaced every so often. FCP has a killer kit for this: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... -960pcvkit

Re: 1996 960 Cylinder compression specs

You're right, those numbers look fine.

The coolant light is triggered by low coolant in the reservoir. May I suggest that you make sure yours is full, and that there are no cracks. I'd replace the coolant cap for good measure as well. The green Stant cap from your FLAPS is the same as OE.

Re: 1996 960 Cylinder compression specs

Those numbers are low.

The service manual indicates the minimum should be 184 psi on a warm engine.

Re: 1996 Volvo 960 Engine Oil Leak Passenger side near bolts

More than likely, the lube technician spilled some oil on top of the engine, and the spilled oil has made it over to the passenger side, since the easiest way out is around the egr tube.

It's not a serious problem. Check the oil level regularly, fill it when low, and you should be fine.
