Re: 2001 s80 P0014 error, cleaning solenoid
I cleaned the solenoid. It was pretty easy. Took the plastic cover off (2 bolts T25). Took the CVVT solenoid off (4 bolts 10mm wrench). The solenoid seems to be fine. Cleaned it really good with break cleaner (alcohol spray can). Wiped everything and put back in place. Drove around for a little and ...

Re: Etm
I would personally try to disconnect the battery. Position the key in II and disconnect it. That is correct way. Although when I replaced my battery (the old one just died) I didn't position my key in II position. Had to reset the time on the dashboard but no reprogramming. I have 2001 S80 2.4T 147 ...

Re: 2001 S80 A/C shuts off
You just need to remove a washer. I had exactly the same problem but i didn't have any tools for the job so I had a local mechanic do that for me. The gap on the wheel become too big so to make work again you need to remove just one washer. There are instructions how to do it, cannot find them right...

Re: 2001 s80 Pressure in coolant only when in traffic
Just got my car back from the shop.
The gasket was changed. Drove around for a while in traffic and on the clear road. No sign of pressure or anything like I had before.
Seems like everything is fixed for now.
This issue is fixed and I'm very happy! =)

Re: 2001 s80 Pressure in coolant only when in traffic
Went to day to a friend of mine who works at TOYOTA center.
He ran a simple coolant test and the liquid changed the color.
Will drive to the shop tomorrow and change the gasket. Hope that it will take just a day to change it.
Will keep you updated on this issue.

Re: 00 s80 grinding/noise at 30 - 60 mph
I had slightly similar problem. When I was going at about 60-70 mph I would hear some soft of HOUL noise. But when I turned wheel to the left it would stop. Went to a local mechanic and they listened to it through a stethoscope. I just decided to change the bearing and I was right. It was my left be...

Re: 2001 s80 Pressure in coolant only when in traffic
I get LOTS of heat. Just tried it today when it was about 29C out i was steaming inside (turned the heat on for few minutes just to check).
I also checked the Engine temp. Sensor with multimeter and it read temperature fine and works as it should.

Thank you for your response!
No, I haven't tried that. Didn't even think that it could be the water pump because it was replaced in November 2012 (15K km ago). But I will try that tomorrow and let you know what happens. Btw, what might happen?

2001 s80 Pressure in coolant only when in traffic
I've read this forum and many others but could not find a solution to my problem. If any Volvo mechanics who might of seen or came across this problem could help that would be awesome. Problem: Pressure builds up in the coolant system when I drive in hot weather mainly when driving from traffic ligh...
