OK Im back after a long break from the V50. I disassembled and found the timming belt was "shredding" and the debris got wrapped around the crankshaft sprocket causing the belt to slip. I also found the belt tensioner not very tight. http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj481/vcolper/IMG_12...

Thanks Jimmy. Ill look in more detail at the crank, but no recent "wrenching" apparent.

I have a 94 940 (automatic) in which I intend to install a 5 speed (M47) off a 92 240.

Manually? You mean removing t he motor and rotating the slot. Yes I tried but it gets stuck...It seems jammed.

I just purchased a 1986 Turbo 760 wagon.... The sunroof seems to be stuck. The motor operates, I checked it by removing and testing. It goes back and forth easliy.
