Re: 2000 V70R - ECC illumination bulb sources?

I did this on my 2000 S70 recently. You can buy the bulbs online for about 8 dollars a piece if I remember correctly (four of them). I went the cheap route and bought the Radio Shack bulbs that can be used for the console buttons. You just have to disassemble these bulbs carefully, since there is a ...

2000 S70 CV Joint Forgot To Mark Locations

In my haste I forgot to measure the distance between the CV joint and shaft; I also forgot to mark the location of each ball bearing. Should I be concerned about this or not worry if everything is snug?

Re: 2000 S70 Time to reach operating temperature

You'll get heat out of the vents faster if you load up the engine more. With the ECC set to AUT fan, and 72º, I can get a gust of hot air blowing out within 3-4 minutes if I drive a certain route. 40mph on a slight uphill road really gets the engine warm quick, even if I'm extremely gentle getting ...

Re: 2000 S70 Time to reach operating temperature

G35 has a much, much bigger engine than the Volvo ;) More displacement, more gas injected, more cylinders = more heat. 4-5 mins for heat is normal, ~8 to reach OT. You know I didn't even think of that, lol. Kind of like comparing apples to oranges I guess, but I was just wondering if that time fram...

Re: 2000 S70 PCV Replacement

I'm sure someone has probably posted this, but I had two parts left over from my PCV job. They were elbows. Did I forget to do something or was I just given extra parts? I used the "slightly better" Stant from AdvanceAuto. I was having the same problem with the OE thermostat.

Re: 2000 S70 PCV Replacement

I know I have replaced a ton of stuff the past few months. Same thing goes for my G35; I just did the timing chain and radiator replacement on that and saved myself at least 1500 in labor charges. I have a few issues with the Volvo to tackle then hopefully (ABS, ETM and/or PNP) it will be at stage 0...

2000 S70 Time to reach operating temperature

I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea how long it should take my Volvo to reach operating temperature? I have noticed that it takes about 10 minutes to reach operating temperature and about 5/6 minutes to blow hot air out. My G35 (2006) heats up a lot quicker. I've replaced the coolant and t...

Re: 2000 S70 PCV Replacement

I blew into the PVC system with a hose and it was clear. I took the car for a test drive and everything seemed fine and then parked it. Then today I am having some serious problems so will probably start a new thread now. *Actually just figured it out. The fuel pump relay is bad; I hate this you fix...

Re: 2000 S70 PCV Replacement

I would not recommend trying to clean out the LARGE intake ports, just small blocked holes. You wouldn't want things to fall into the valves or piston area. Just want to say thanks for your videos; I have watched a lot of them. I plugged up the holes and cleaned up as much as I could without having...
