Re: Trouble shooting a bad fuel pump

I replaced the fuel pump (using the cut the whole in the floor method) and the car ran better but the sulfur smell was still present. I then replaced the MAF with a Bosch replacement but the smell was still there. I decided to replace the coolant temp. sensor and the sulfur smell disappeared. Thanks...

Re: Trouble shooting a bad fuel pump

Is the fuel pressure regulator located at the end of the rail? Is it capped?

Re: Trouble shooting a bad fuel pump

I have "cleaned" the MAF and do not notice any difference. I have also disconnected the MAF and and started the car and did not notice any change in the idle. I have not attempted to drive the vehicle with these changes bc I don't want to get stranded again.

Re: Trouble shooting a bad fuel pump

After reading the post for the faulty coolant temperature sensor, these symptoms sound similar to the bad fuel pump. Now, I am looking at the faulty coolant temperature sensor as a possible culprit. I will gladly take your advice and check the fuel pressure first and go from there.

Trouble shooting a bad fuel pump

1998 V70 AWD Turbo 158,000 miles I recently ran the car out of gas. The car stalled of course and I attempted to restart the vehicle several times to try to move it off to the side of the road. I refueled with 1/4 tank and eventually got the car started. The idle was rough and the car hesitated and ...

high pitched noise 850 turbo wagon

I cannot recall what vacuum line my mechanic replaced. Have you tried spraying a solution on your vac lines to check for a leak? Check your elbows as well, they can look okay but have cracks. Somewhere on this site has the locations for the lines. Also check the line that is in top front of the engi...

loss of boost after lines replaced 95T WAGON

I took my car in for a groaning noise. The mechanic found a leaky vacuum line and disconnected it. The most of the noise immediately went away and the boost was really maxing out. When he replaced the line, the boost only kicks about half way in the white and the car doesn't haul ass like it did whe...

Also, the crack in my oil cap has gotten larger since the road trip. When I pull the dipstick out, I can see some fumes flowing pretty good out of there.

clogged pcv symptoms 95 turbo wagon

I took my wagon on a road trip for 18 hours straight. I eventually had to a 2-3 qts of oil throughout the trip. In general, oil seems to be leaking out of several places. I just had a bunch of hoses replaced on the car and did a valve job on it. The power steering fluid was almost empty and I think ...
