I have a very good used driveshaft for a 2000 XC70.

I was going to use it, but my transmission took a dump and i'm parting the car out.

$150 plus shipping. I paid $250 for it. it only had 80K on it when i purchased it. i've never used it.

I have all the bolts to install it as well.

Found the problem last night, and it was probably the reason the car had a blown headgasket when i bought it. the housing is cracked. not sure how it happened. I'm sure i couldn't have done it, i didn't tighten it that hard.

i looked at the tools and thought that it was a bit over kill.

i slathered all the moving parts with molylube assembly grease. then i cleaned all the mating surfaces very well. applied the special sealing compound and then started in the center and worked my way out tightening the bolts down ...

found a couple of thermostat housing gaskets at carquest. so i can try to fix it again tonight. should i use some silicone between the two gaskets or just use gasket glue.
