Re: 1999 S80 T6 Transmission filter
The filter is also available at most Auto Parts stores since the transmission is used in many GM vehicles also. I picked one up a few months back from AutoZone for only $13.00. It's listed under the 1999 Volvo S80 so no special cross reference needed. It looked exactly the same as the original Volvo...

Re: Subframe O-Ring Confusion
If you already have it apart go ahead and change the o-rings. Also check those rear subframe bushings for cracking or separation of the rubber to the outer steel sleeve of the bushing. There are a number of things in the front end that can cause clunking and these are what I'd check next: 1. Strut t...

Re: S80 T6 99 Leaking about 1Qt Oil Per Day
It could be the seals on the PCV Oil Seperator box or the box could be clogged up and the hoses have rotted. Lots of info on this topic in the forum.

Re: 99 s80 oil consumption
I went the route of breaking off the old box and then I used a 1.25" hole saw to take a bit of material off of the side of the accessory bracket. There isn't a lot of room to get a die grinder in there with the box in place. You might be able to use an air saw but even that would be a pain beca...

Re: 2001 S80 - Anyone actually happy?
I have a 1999 S80 2.9 that I bought used about 5 years ago for my wife. It had 101,000 miles when I bought it and it has about 202,000 miles on it now. I still love the car and the way it drives. Even after 200k miles it feels solid on the road. The interior and trunk space are more than most SUV's ...

Your local guy should be able to handle it. I have noticed that the struts for these cars aren't too expensive. I have seen quite a few OEM sets go on ebay for under $200. FCPGroton, http://www.fcpgroton.com sells a lot of parts for the car, including the spring seats. Also check http://www.swedishp...

The bolts I am talking about are the big bolts at each of the bar that goes across the back of the engine bay. If you see the picture below you will see the bolts on each end of this long black bar running from left to right, from pass strut tower to driver strut tower. The center of this bar also c...

Most likely it is the subframe flexing, which the O-rings will fix. The easiest way to check it is to find a road that is sloped down hill. From about 10-20mph drive the car down the grade and while still going down apply the brakes moderately hard, not enough to stop the car though. If you hear the...

Issue Resolved!
I put in a fresh set of plugs and swapped the fuel pump relay and after about 5-7 cranks it started right up. Idle was still a bit erratic but I drove it a short distance and everything seemed to be okay. I took it to the dealer the next day and got the ETM software updated and the idle went up from...

Troubleshooting...long.
Looked into the issue more last night. I took the relay out and just jumped the bottom two connections where the relay plugs in to have the pump on all the time. I then checked the fuel pressure and it was 60psi. Good sign that the fuel pump is OK. I tried cranking the car again with the relay bypas...
