Re: Removing the oil sump screen. Bad idea?

I forgot to mention before dropping the pan for the 2nd time, I replaced the oil pressure sensor. I replaced 6 o-rings. Two on the underside block, two in the oil pan connecting the tube that runs to from the oil cooler to the filter and two on the outside of the pan connecting the oil cooler. I did...

Re: Removing the oil sump screen. Bad idea?

I forgot to mention in my original post. I replaced the two o-rings on the bottom of the engine block as well as the two o-rings/washers on both ends of the pickup tube. The old ones I took out were hard and broke when I took them out. I also sealed the oil pan with Volvo's genuine $40 anerobic (spe...

Removing the oil sump screen. Bad idea?

I've got a 2001 S60 that has the oil pressure light coming on. I recently dropped the oil pan to clean out the sludge. I scraped the pan as well as soaked and scrubbed it with brake cleaner and engine cleaner. I got most of it cleaned up. After putting it all back together it worked fine for about 1...

CTA Ball Joint Removal Tool for Volvo's

Does anyone have any experience using this tool to remove a ball joint? https://www.amazon.com/CTA-Tools-4019-Installer-Remover/dp/B00VX0RAL8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476762666&sr=8-1&keywords=volvo+ball+joint+removal I can see how it would be helpful to install a ball joint but I'm not s...

Re: 1999 S80 Brake Pedal Stiff in Cold Weather

I found this post on the MVS site for other models. I'll have to check it out to see if this fix works for my S80.

1999 S80 Key Fob Remote Control

I purchased a used 1999 S80 that came with two keys and a fob. The previous owner said the fob worked but it doesn't. Does anyone know if I can tell whether the fob that I have is the right one for my car? I know there are different numbers on the back of the fobs. Or doesn't it matter at all and th...

Re: 2000 Volvo s80 with Airbag Light on

I had a 1999 S80 with the airbag light on and got in a front end collision with another car going about 30 mph. Both airbags deployed to my surprise. The car ended up getting totaled and I purchased another 1999 S80. It too has the airbag light on. I'm not as concerned anymore with the light. The ne...

1999 S80 Brake Pedal Stiff in Cold Weather

I've got a 1999 S80 and in the cold winter mornings the brake petal is stiff. If I pump it a 5 or 6 times it loosens up and is fine the rest of the day. Is my booster going bad? Or is there something else I should check out?

Thanks in advance.
