850 Platinum Pearl paint

Hello! I'm in a project repainting a Platinum. I have done this before and noticed that the base coat was a pale cream yellow, nd then the Pearl topcoart, then clear. I recently ordered some paint for it online and the base coat color is more like a polar white. My question is: What is the proper pa...

Re: 02 V70 XC Junk yard door - window, mirror, locks not working

Well as it turned out is was the the wiring harness. Here's the photos with the tags :

everything plugged up...but as Abscate pointed out, there must be subtle differences in the harness pin positions.

Re: 02 V70 XC Junk yard door - window, mirror, locks not working

can you guys expand the CANBUS acronym? Not sure exactly wht that means but I think I can define it through context... Anyhow, do you mean the wires color/pin position are the same in the harness from the old and new door? Yes I'll check that later today. Another question: Do you think the door lock...

Yes electrically, the old door was functioning correctly.
What I will be trying next is to move the wiring harness from the old door over to the new one.

02 V70 XC Junk yard door - window, mirror, locks not working

I replaced a dented front (right) passenger door with one from the same era (04 I think). After mounting the door and reconnecting the wiring, none of the electronics but the speakers work. Door will lock from the fob, but not from the master switch. Wifey was complaining about intermittent troubles...

Re: key / fob / remote swap from one car to another?

Thanks for the great replies. I may not have stated what I wanted to do correctly. My wifes 02 XC70 has a problem with the locks. The key does not work in the door and the remotes dont work. If I could locate a junk car - with functioning keys, locks, ignition and remotes - could I transplant those ...

key / fob / remote swap from one car to another?

Hello, my wifes trusty 02 wagon has developed a problem with the remote and the key. We have only one key and she has already been stranded once locked out of the car. The remote will not lock or unlock the car, so you cant park it anywhere for very long because it's not secure. replacing all of tha...

Re: 850 timing marks are off

Yes I have the 'crankshaft alignment pin' in place. So the piston is held at TDC. I have owned this car since February, and this is my first attempt at a DOHC timing belt, but have done several SOHC belts before. I guess I'm asking if I should align the cams with the camshaft lock tool? Or..line the...

850 timing marks are off

I'm changing the timing belt on my 96 Platinum sedan and found that both the exhaust and intake cams are both retarded a couple degrees. I saw a tool provided by IPD that helps adjust the physical timing, and the tool's manual explained the situations where advancing the physical timing would be ben...
