Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

First fuel pump was the stock pump. The first replacement pump I was unaware of until it fail. Upon replacing the pump I noticed that it had already been replaced. (So 1st pump replaced by me was the 3rd pump in the vehicle.) 3rd pump failed due to user error in installation (kinked line) 4th pump i...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

I did give up and take it to a local independent volvo tech. Turns out I had the bad luck of installing a faulty fuel pump the last time. So I purchased another and it started right up after they installed it. This will be the 5th fuel pump in this vehicle

Would there be a way to test this sensor or check functionality in vida?

Absolutely, each time I charge the battery I pull the negative. It may be an old wives tale but I heard years ago to disconnect it just in case you don’t blow any of the computer components.

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

I tried this just now, at first crank nothing, second crank it moved the needle then stopped, third crank did nothing. It seem to deplete my battery fairly quickly attempting to start. Its now back on the charger. I have replaced the crankshaft? or camshaft position sensors.(the 2 sensors on top of ...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

Welp, after about a week of a couple short drives I decided to drive to work with it. I thought I found the problem with the kink in the fuel pump line... I am now stranded at work. Turns over, can hear the pump working. It starts up and bogs down and dies. basically back to square one with the prob...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

Replaced the fuel pump with a warranty replacement. Found the issue, it was a kink in the line coming from the sender unit. I pulled the fuel pump out and pump side was dry save for a tiny puddle for gas. Fuel sender side was full of gas. 93B3E7A4-671B-4EB7-94F9-9F0FEEED49AE.jpeg I’m going to run it...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

I personally changed the fuel pump, I very well could have installed it incorrectly. I followed Vida but mainly Youtube. I drove that thing around for 2 months with the back seats out. Put them back in and drove around for a week, two max. Then, toast. I wouldn't rule out user error during installat...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

I tried moving the coils. 4,5,6 on the 1,2,3 spark plugs. Cleared codes and tried starting. Nothing. The kink in the fuel pump could be a possibility. Here are the codes I pulled: ECM DTC next day.PNG I also pulled a few parameters and tried starting the car while it was one giving me that 1 misfire...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start

I tried unplugging the MAF, didn't do anything but throw the MAF codes. Reconnected, reset the DTCs by disconnecting the battery. Then attempted another start up, it came on for about 1 second and died. Still only giving me the ECM-P151B68 code.
