Alright never mind, it was much easier than I thought.
Took only 5 minutes with a dremel for both of the brushes to launch. XD

1985 244GL Changing brushes?
I posted this on another site but didn't get any action, hoping you guys might share how to do this as all I can find so far is passing remarks about doing it. Previously when I needed to do this I'd just hit the JY and buy the entire thing, but now that I have several I want to do them myself. so I...

Re: 88 240 not charging, checked all i can think of
The 12V exciter wire usually has an indicator bulb between the source and the alternator. The purpose of this bulb is not just an indicator. That bulb seems to be pretty important as it's being used in a interesting way. They say when everything is working right, both sides to it give positive curr...

Re: 85 244GL what are the main parasitic battery drains?
Then you bought the wrong battery. Got a really good deal on it from a guy that exports bmws to south africa. Some reason he can't ship them with batteries so he has a whole bunch of them. I can make it work, it's the same size as OEM just gotta do some wire massaging. The thing about it though, I'...

Re: 85 244GL what are the main parasitic battery drains?
Thanks you guys, this is a great big help! I just went and bought a new battery, new wires, did a diode test, was successfull. But, I actually did cut and wrap that glove box switch wire the other day. I had removed the bulb for it a long time ago, and recently thought I should cut off that switch b...

85 244GL what are the main parasitic battery drains?
I got something draining the battery over night, started about two days ago. I just disconnected the power locks, and removed the #8 fuse for the glovebox, so nothing is gonig to be pulling from that route. Are there any other possible points of parasitic drain, anyone can think of? Any other possib...

Re: 1983 242DL installed 100amp Denso alt. and now it won
Damn, I just realized how dangerous this is. Sorry about that, I just realized what you were asking. But that was meant to just be a test to see if the starter is indeed good, and wired properly. Which it should be. are you sure the battery is fully charged? Like for instance, can you jump it with a...

Re: 1980 245DL How do I adjust the Air-Con belt?
There's a 12MM or 13MM retaining bolt, that you need to loosen, it's flush with the pulley and below the compressor. Then if you follow from where that bolt is you'll see there's a very long 10MM bolt for your adjustment. All you gotta do is see where all this is at, get a good $1 LED flashlight and...

Re: 83 244DL Starter engaging while turning left
Damn well, the kickdown cable is the top cable on the throttle body, it has a larger threaded adjustment piece, 1 or two nuts, and a little blade lock thing that you need to pull off to adjust it. Keep that thing safe, er don't lose it. :) This cable is prone to stretching. But before you adjust it,...

Re: 83 244DL Starter engaging while turning left
If ATF level is good, then check the kickdown cable, it needs to be adjusted to a specific point so the trans will shift at the correct MPH. Oh yeah, and that overdrive solenoid is kind of a PIA, IPD makes a kit to bypass it. It's a little tricky but pretty easy to install after reading the directio...
