I don't have a solution but have the exact same issue - only it's the passenger seat. It's all you hear when someone is sitting there.

Do you also feel these steering kicks when turning slowly?

You could actually get the abs sensors out? Never had luck doing that... at least without destroying them.

I was testing mine recently with a 9 volt battery and it clicks when it opens, but I'd be very suprised if you would hear that when the engine is running.

I would also clean up the engine bay now that it's empty. Oil, dirt, rust etc...
