Thanks for the suggestions.
Ok, electrical side first.
Can the tumbler be purchased separately or do I have to purchase the whole key side?

98 Volvo, S70, T5 (manual tranny), 300K orig. owner
Sometimes new battery is drained and needs charging to start vehicle. Vehicle occasionally balks at road speed. Heater fan occasionally cycles to high then back again. When starting, sometime key turns all the way around, but usually I only get start and contact in the far end of twisting the key, a...

Oil Cooler Hose Connecting O-rings
Replaced cooling radiator, re-attached upper and lower hoses using o-rings and (weak) spring retainer clamps that came with the new radiator. Top hose connection leaked oil after re-assembly. Re-ordered clamps and o-rings from FCP Groton. Spring clamps were much stronger. Also included small screw-t...

Cruise Control Problem Continues
1998, S70, T5, 300,000 mi. For some time the cruise speed varies on this automobile, fluctuating up or down as much as 5 mph. All parts of the system seem to be functioning, but it won't hold speed, especially up hill, where it really over-speeds. Then I got a code for the throttle position sensor, ...

Oh...I didn't see his comment. That's good advice, especially in this climate.

Re: Throttle Position Sensor
I can't see anything familiar on my S70, which is a 5-speed. Is the stick shift different or is the switch buried beneath the accelerator cable unit?

(Yes, they use lots of winter salt up here in Wisconsin)

Throttle Position Sensor
1998 S70 T5 290k/miles. Could not read the check engine light code at the local parts store, so I went to the Volvo dealer (US$126 HOUR !) though they read it at no charge. They did not say what the code was, but told me it was the throttle position sensor and that they wouldn't have time to repair ...
