Re: 01 V70 tailgate does not lock with remote or door switch
Yes, I found 5 broken wires in that bundle going through the left hinge. I repaired them, and the tailgate now locks again, although, now, the darn handle won't always open the tailgate after unlocking it unless you fiddle with it (sticking somehow). Well, being able to lock the vehicle is most impo...

01 V70 tailgate does not lock with remote or door switch
I've had my 01 V70 T5 for 9 years. Recently, I tried to lock the car with the remote and all 4 doors lock properly, but not the tailgate. One can just open the tailgate, and then sometimes the security alarm does sound. There's no audible click either at the tailgate when trying to lock the car. I'v...

Re: VIDA/DICE Cooling System Diagnostic proceedure Info
My v70 is a 2001. I see "2013" on your photo in upper left corner....maybe that's the difference. Otherwise, I couldn't say why your VIDA only shows 2 options.

Re: VIDA/DICE Cooling System Diagnostic proceedure Info
You're welcome. BTW, way back in Sept 2018, I had a similar problem with the A/C randomly quitting in traffic, etc. I looked at my notes on this, and it seems that the A/C compressor clutch was cycling randomly or not at all in hot weather. There are search results saying how to adjust the clutch ai...

Re: XeMODeX ETM- Who has had it done?
I had my ETM rebuilt by XeMODeX 1 year ago (April 2015) to fix chronic etm-related engine codes. Since then, it has not stored any codes and the car runs better than ever. Today, I had the car smog-tested for my registration renewal - no codes and no problems - I got my smog cert in 10 minutes. The...

Re: XeMODeX ETM- Who has had it done?
UPDATE: My XeMODeX ETM lasted 5 years, but on Feb 24, 2020, it suddenly started dropping ETM-related codes (ECM-91F0 & ECM-9190). XeMODeX replaced it under the lifetime warranty. Because it has been so long, I paid the return shipping, which was fine by me. The replacement unit runs well and the...

Volvo V70 etc cam & crank seals tools available
I hope this isn't inappropriate, but last fall, I bought and used various specialized tools to replace my front cam seals and the crank seal...quite a job for this old-timer, but it doesn't leak a drop of oil now. I really appreciate all the info here and on youtube showing how to get this job done....

Re: 2003 Volvo S60 2.4T Throttle Body Issues.
When I got my 01 V70 T5 5 years ago I had continual issues with the throttle body (TB). I had numerous related codes, such as: ECM-9150, 9160, and 903F. Eventually, I sent my TB to XeMODeX to have it rebuilt (took less than a week). ALL of the codes disappeared and the car ran much better. I'm not a...

Re: 2.3L crankshaft gear puller recommendation?
Yes, I figured one of these inexpensive, flat steering-wheel-type pullers would also work. Thanks for the input.XC70Rider wrote: ↑08 Oct 2019, 19:43 I used this universal puller to get it off my 2.5T. The size can be adjusted.
