Thanks for the helpful information FLXC90, I was unsure of the normality of that. As for the excess fuel there is no black smoke out of the exhaust which is what is confusing me. I definitely am running rich but I don't smell the gas burning or have black smoke.
Thanks for your help.

Re: 98 s70 T5 Smoke out of oil filler
161k , When I did the pcv at 155k everything looked really clean surprisingly. That's why I was wondering if bad injector/s could be causing the problem. When I place a glove over the oil filler port it tries to suck the glove it which also leads me to believe the pcv isnt an issue. The engine does ...

Re: 98 s70 T5 Smoke out of oil filler
I purchased a complete kit from ipd. When I went to do the pcv there was surprisingly little gunk in the ports and the hoses themselves looked pretty clean. If I were getting blow by wouldn't I have oil pooling up underneath my spark plug cover? I thought that could be it but I had my cover off for ...

98 s70 T5 Smoke out of oil filler
Hey guys- I've been having a problem with smoke coming out of my oil filler. After driving for a few miles I notice smoke puffing out of my engine at a pretty good amount when I take off the cap. I have been running rich(p0172) and I'm wondering if my fuel injectors could be leaking causing my engin...

Re: 98 s70 T5 No start
Hey guys, got a call back from my mechanic yesterday and he said it was my starter solenoid that's bad. Does anyone know how much one of these cost? I did not find much on the web about these being sold separately and really hoping I don't have to buy a whole starter.
Thanks-

Re: 98 s70 T5 No start
Yeah the only reason I even suspected it was because the car didn't start after the tranny swap, and this happening shortly the tranny began acting up. I had the orange flashing arrow a few days ago and sure enough she refused to fire up shortly after that. Do you know where the pnp switch is locate...

Re: 98 s70 T5 No start
Thanks for the reply, very helpful information. I was under the impression that there is no immobilizer on the 98 s70. I will try firing her up that way... if not I'll have my friend tow it with his truck to my mechanic in town. Recently had the tranny replaced and its been acting up for the last co...

98 s70 T5 No start
Hey guys, the volvo took a crap on me yesterday leaving me stranded at piggly wiggly. I turn the key to start it and all the lights come on but it wont even crank. There is no clicking sound so I don't think it's the starter. I'm guessing pnp switch, starter relay, or my ignition switch which was re...

Re: 98 S70 T5 Boost problems- possible CBV?
I inspected ALL my hoses related to the turbo and intercooler and surprisingly nothing was torn or had damage...Only thing is I have some pretty rusty clamps down by the turbo. After doing some more research it seems very likely it could be both my cat and cbv causing me problems. I'll attempt to re...
