Re: 2005 xc90 t6 nasty noises from rear drive
Well, turns out it was not a bad axle but a bad wheel bearing. On the rear bearings, the ABS sensor ring is integral with the rear of the bearing. This had failed and was separated from the bearing. Hence the nasty noises.
New wheel bearing and all is good.

2005 xc90 t6 nasty noises from rear drive [ bad rear wheel bearing, 2 hour job]
Sporadic clunking, squeeling, and otherwise very nasty noises occuring. ABS code for left rear. Pulled it apart today. Found grease build up on the sensor from a bad wheel bearing. It seems fine on inspection not a lot of play. Still, grease is there. No grinding in the bearing. The driveshaft has a...

Engine swap
Can I swap a series 56 block to work on a series 59 engine if all the attendant bolt ons are taken from the 59 to the 56?

Re: Volvoguard system
I did get a new replacement from the stealer. They are the ones who claimed they could not program it to the car. Something about the slots being greyed out in the program. I did follow ups with them to no avail.
May give it another go with the stealer here in Newfoundland. See how far I get there.

Re: 98 V70 AWD left axle in 98 V70 NA non-awd
I believe I had seen an extensive article on the different driveshaft used throughout the P80 life. Mostly covering the AWD models. But, I recall seeing some info on the NA versus AWD and compatibility for the main driveshafts.

Re: Volvoguard system
I have a 2000 XC that the key fob has ceased to function. The dealer cannot program a new one for it, for some unknown reason.
I thought that if I could transplant the system from one that is the same year...it would solve so many issues.

Volvoguard system
What if...
...I took the control/receiver, key fob and keys from one vehicle of the same year and model. Transplanted it to the current vehicle.
Does it still need to be programmed? Is it viable?

Re: PNP woes
I had bent a pin while reconnecting the wiring harness.
When revisited the pnp...I noticed the bent pin. Fixed that. All was good since.
