Re: Replaced car battery- key fobs don't work.....

I posted this last night because my experience with Volvo is that the small things tend to be complicated. The car actually healed itself overnight. What I discovered was that when my wife’s rescue person on the road side pulled the jump kit out of the spare tire well the cover was pulled out undern...

Replaced car battery- key fobs don't work.....

I put a new battery in our 2015 V60 today and afterwards the key fobs won't lock the car anymore. The car starts normally, but will not lock or unlock with the fob......Any ideas? I read over the owners manual and saw nothing.

2015 V60 CEL is on, need code reader.......

So, our 2015 V60 is up around 60K miles now. The CEL came on this afternoon. I've not found any way to read the codes without some sort of reader or going to Autozone.....My question then is what code reader is a good one for this car? We plan on keeping it till my daughter starts driving in a coupl...

Re: 2000 V40 non-start mystery

I finally gave up and had the car towed to the local Indy Volvo shop. It turned out to be a mechanical failure inside the key switch. I appreciate all the efforts to help me diagnose the problem. I hope to have the car back in a few days.

Re: 2000 V40 non-start mystery

Thanks for all the replies. I don't believe it is a PNP issue, that item is a new Volvo part and have not had an issue. I'm thinking it is something to do with the immobilizer, but doing the lock/un-lock routine with the fob has not made any difference. Although the key doesn't seem to reach the sta...

Re: 2000 V40 non-start mystery

The engine does not crank. The key does not turn to the start position.

2000 V40 non-start mystery

So, the car runs like a top, 80 mile round-trip commutes for weeks on end. The other night I went to start it for a quick ride up to the store and it struggled to start, caught a bit and then died. When I tried re-starting the key does not seem to go all the way round to the start position. I hear t...
