Recommendations on brand if it matters and where I can find one

I purchased my 2009 S60 2.5t with 102k that is pretty immaculate inside and out. I feel like I got an amazing deal having paid $5500.00 and wanted to hear from some of you on weather I did as good as I think or just average? I would really appreciate any and all opinions, thank you for your time.

I just got my K&N filter and installed it I left the mass air flow sensor unplugged and drove about 1 mile and the check engine light come on. That's I guess what I am trying to accomplish plus some extra get up. Was just reading on another post and am curious being my first Volvo and first turbo car i am mechanically inclined for some basic work but for jobs needing to have done any suggestions on type of shop?
