Re: Tool Loaning
Go to Home Depot, get some PVC pipe. I'm sure that you're going somewhere with that recommendation, but I'm just not sure exactly where. Are you suggesting "build your own tool" from PVC pipe? If so, the guide pin holders and guide pins are not part of that picture, and they are (in my op...

Re: Tool Loaning
You can rent the tool for $27 from europarts.com >>> https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/75006/Ball-Joint-Install-Remover-Set-4019RENT/ I did this rental a couple months ago with no issues whatsoever with either the tool or rental process. I will say, though, that replacement Meile ball joints are an e...

Re: Dual VVT timing belt preparations
... So if I mark the timing in advance and lock the cams from the rear I can spin the hubs to check and then return them back to original timing marks without issue right? Re: setting hub positions before installing the new belt, if I understand you correctly F250, you mean steps 37 thru 50 in guid...

Re: Dual VVT timing belt preparations
Do the glove test first to check the condition of your PCV system. Better to do it all at the same time if it's plugged, and the only way to know if your engine block oil drain ports are open all the way into the pan is to drop the pan and clean/inspect from both the front of the car and from below ...

Re: Thinking of buying a 05 S60 2.5t
... Was there expectation that you could buy a 10 years old car and just drive it? :) ... No, not completely, but to a small degree, yes... for a while, anyway. We knew up front that the timing belt and water pump were going to get done right away due to the absence of any proof they had ever been ...

Re: Thinking of buying a 05 S60 2.5t
We have used only Volvo or reputably known upgraded parts (i.e. Meihle, etc.) based on recommendations from both here and Swedespeed members, so we're good on that front. The techs I've spoken with mentioned that it is typically only the inner tie-rods which fail, but I went ahead and did both just ...

Re: Thinking of buying a 05 S60 2.5t
Good and bad. My daughter picked up a '07 S60 2.5T for $5200 with 165K miles on it just this past June (2016). The body, paint, and interior were near mint condition. At this point, though, she has already put an ADDITIONAL $4400 in it, and all of that except the labor portion of a $400 front brake ...

Re: Thermostat replacement without the housing
The eBay part shows as "not compatible" with my daughter's '07 S60. I can only assume that this is NOT a new thing, but is simply another stat which is compatible with the old style housings.

Re: Camshaft seals
I got it all back together. Even got the timing marks back to where they were before I started. No CELs. I just have some short notes for the guide on how to do this job. The VCT without the spring return have quite a bit of slack in them. If they are set to the forward mark they will be at the aft...
