I had the same issue with the same model/spec. I bought a non-OEM replacement and the noise stopped but now there's negative pressure in the tank when I open the cap. No performance or fuel pump issues after about 40k miles with the new gas cap.

I had the 2014D release in 2019 but that computer (and hard drive) met an unfortunate end thanks to me leaving the laptop on an engine cover while slamming the hood shut.

Is there anywhere in the cooling system on the 2.0 Drive-E to bleed air from the cooling system? I've got gurgling coming from behind the dash but running the engine isn't doing anything except overheating it.

I'm assuming the pump is just grabbing air.

Assuming you have the 2.0 4cyl turbo engine in the 2015.5. Have no idea what he is talking about. The only water pump I know of is electric located on the front of the engine (Assuming same orientation as xc60)
