To be honest I've never smelt burnt fluid so I couldn't tell you. But it doesn't smell like burnt rubber or smoke or anything. But thought brown was just a sign of a tranny going bad.

people are saying its a cv axle. and no it doesnt have the silver rings sadly. i turned on my car this morning and everything worked on it but as soon as i started driving the odometer and clock got all jumbled up and all the gauges stopped working

hey guys so i took a risk hoping its a simple fix.
I just bought a s60 2004 with under 140k miles on it for 500$. as far as i know the only problems are electrical and a bushing on one of the A arms.

i believe the CC is under the battery pan but i cant find the motor there so its either non existent or somewhere else lol

i think i need to replace my TCM or transmission. hopefully just the TCM. its pulling a P0605 code. is the TCM vis specific like the ECM or is it plug and play as slong as i get the same model and year/make?

The modules in the 99+ cars are married to each other in software, so plug and play success rate is very low.
There's a lot of crap info on the webs. I'm seeing a different error description for P0656 ( fuel circuit error) so you need someone with VIDA here to get that right as a first step ...

i had autozone print that off. stuarts ( a local store) had the same code.
