I just realized something. The high pressure line was put back on without the plastic insert at the quick connect part. There are no leaks but I wonder if that’s somehow causing it?

So I replaced my fuel pump assembly on my 1998 V70R. What a mess... anyway after finally installing it and closing the flap I drove the car and the pump is so noisy. It’s almost unbearable! Any suggestions? Are those usually that loud?

Here is the update. New (correct) belt came in... 5 minutes and it was done. I really thought I was going crazy. Now on to the wife's XC - at least now I know what I am doing and I have the right belt. Thanks again for your help!

I don't believe this! The belt says 1740 but the package says 1743!

I watched the video and thats exactly how I route it. Going to go after it again in a bit. Wish me luck!

That's the thing - I've done belts before (mostly on my Land Rover) and its always been pretty straightforward. I look at all of the pulleys and the belt is sitting on all of them properly and the tensioner is pulled back and locked with a pin (I tried going past that point and it moves only a ...

I am using the routing on IPDs site. I didn't do any work and I pulled that tensioner as far back as it goes. I will try again tomorrow and let you know.

I googled belt routing and I have it go around the crank, ac, up to alternator, down to idler pulley and up around the ps pump. When I get to the PS pump pulley (with the tensioner pulled all the way back) I need another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to slide it on the pulley. I am using Contitech 1743.

Two days, two different belts (Dayco first and now Continental). Same size as the old belt but I cannot get it back on. I used the new routing and nothing. When I get to the last pulley its about an inch short. I even thought that maybe its too cold outside and it shrunk so I warmed it up ...
