I have been told by my local Volvo dealer that in order to reprogram a used ECM, they have to have the car that it is coming out of, and the car it is being installed in. Doesn't sound likely. What say you?

Anyone have the scoop on how to program the different options. Things like locking doors at a certain speed, lights flashing when doors locked or unlocked by remote? Is this a dealer thing or is there a secret program in the car? Thanks much
