I'd guess a frozen caliper.

Rotors are stock (smooth faced) Volvo parts. Not a fan of drilled/slotted rotors, but that's a different topic

Bumping this thread. Time to sell this car and this problem is back - definitely associated to outside temps (hot here right now). Note that original post was in August. Tempted to swap out rear rotors and pads for new, as much as I hate putting the labor and money into a car I'm selling.

Ok in the "better late than never" category, I finally pulled the driver's door panel, and found one of the two green wires in the black plug that goes to the power window motor was hanging loose. I reconnected the wire and the window is operational. Thanks all for the responses.

Never impressed with our FWD 850's snow performance. 4 snow tires will help.

Ok reporting back - tried the "top down" approach with the contact cleaner and no joy. Window began to operate again a few days later, and then stopped again. It worked again after giving the door a slam, so sounds like I need to follow up inside the door.

Subject says it all. All other windows operating fine. Driver's window down about 90% of the way, won't go back up. Switch makes "clicking" noise, but the window doesn't budge at all. TIA

Thanks Andrew - I've reset the light and will see if it returns.

Thanks everyone. Dealing with a CEL and A/C issues right now - air guide sounds like it can wait.
