Re: Radiator Fan will not shut off - drains battery

Curious, has anyone successfully repaired the two fan XC60 T6 radiator fan module? Most control modules I have worked on are repairable. It's crazy that the two-fan shroud does not allow a replacement module like the single-fan shrouds.

Re: 2008 xc90 starts but then dies. Runs most of the time

Just for your interest if you have a Volvo xc90 which runs and randomly dies off and on. I went crazy with this issue for months and no one could figure it out after going through all the usual issues.

It was throwing the fuel pressure code, but not instantly, only after about 20 miles and engine ...

Re: Strong Vibration at 3000 RPM

Curious, I know this is an old thread, but on an 09 XC90 3.2 at 3200 to 4000 rpm range I have a buzz like resonance from engine, not chassis or while in gear, so it is in engine, but runs great, no codes? Not a miss, a balance issue for sure, mechanical as I see it. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Re: Cams Identification

Since there is no answer, perhaps you can tell up how you resolved your issue. I know about the ever so slight serial numbers and the I for intake and E for exhaust, but if the VVT sprocket is removed, and you set crank alignment, can you rotate cams safely 360 degrees? Of course, rotating in same ...

Re: Resetting the Cams

Technically, the notches are not exactly parallel to the head to valve cover lines, they are a little off, and TDC is not how you set timing. Number one piston should be just before TDC to be in proper time to cams. When you have cam tool set, you will see that the slots are not parallel to seams ...

Re: Cams Identification

Sadly many questions go unanswered, and since this is an old thread with no answer, I hope you figured it out. But for those who have not, once you lock cams in, the VVT gears are aligned to the insanely small notches on sprockets which are near invisible, so when you locate them, mark them with ...

Re: Healthy motor with no compression?

Thanks, I wanted to avoid this at all cost since it seems impossible to me to have damage to valves. The head was checked, and if warped, it would only effect a couple cylinders, not all, and that I have seen dozens of times, as with blown head gaskets. No cracks in head, and no leak down in each ...

Re: 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T timing camshaft positions..

Curious, I see you can rotate cams when crank pulley timing is correct without hitting pistons, but what about cams locked with special tool, can you rotate crank pulley 260 degrees without any interference, for as I was turning to set bottom crank pulley timing, I hit a resistance spot and didn't ...

Re: Healthy motor with no compression?

Amazing, no input in two months. I am stumped, I squirted oil in each cylinder and compression came up about 10 lbs now at 15 lbs in cylinder 1 and 5 and still zero in all the rest, barely a puff with rags stuck in spark plug holes. My question is how can one cylinder bleed over to another, even if ...

Re: PO343 code--cam shaft position sensor

I have a PO343 code and is this the exhaust cam as I recall? Of course this is the most difficult to replace, but replaced the intake cam sensor just in case, didn't change issue. Engine has never run better, but throws code every time I shut off and restart, never comes on while driving hundreds of ...
